A Fall Update from the FNS Board

Updated: Oct 25, 2021

Have you heard? We are excited to share that we have been awarded a $75K grant from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office to provide full-day preschool classes in 2022-2023, to partner with the Samish Longhouse to offer free classes on Wednesdays for Head Start students, and to provide free outdoor clothing. You can read more about the grant on our website here.

This grant is helping to fund a significant expansion in our program. As you may know, FNS is a volunteer-run nonprofit! To support our growth, we are opening a couple of positions on the Board of Directors this Fall. In particular, we are hoping to find someone interested in taking over the role of Treasurer, but all skill sets and levels of commitment are welcome! Interested? Please apply online here (click Board). Anyone interested in the Treasurer role specifically is welcome to direct questions to Amelia at treasurer@fidalgonatureschool.com.

If you want to get involved but don’t want to join the Board, there are many opportunities to participate with our fun events coming up this winter! Please let us know about your interest here (click Volunteer) and we will be in touch with more details in the coming weeks. Please fill out a separate form for each interested adult. Anyone is welcome to join us as a volunteer for these events, so please share this link widely with interested family members and friends!

Finally, get to know our teachers a little better—we have bios and photos on our website.

Warm regards,

The Fidalgo Nature School Board of Directors
